The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has honoured Schladming with the prestigious "Best Tourism Villages 2023" award. This United Nations initiative recognizes places that preserve their cultural and natural resources, promote sustainable development and strengthen regional communities.
The assessment was carried out by an international jury of experts in the categories of cultural and natural heritage, sustainability, regional value creation, infrastructure and health and safety. Schladming impressed the jury with its commitment to innovation, environmental awareness and quality of life - and is now officially one of the world's leading showcase resorts for sustainable tourism.
